Hello ladies and happy September! We’re hoping for a few more weeks of nice weather, but have to admit we won’t be upset with some cool evenings spent curled up with a good book under a warm throw.

We’re getting excited for our Virtual Girly Book Club meeting with September’s featured author, Jesmyn Ward.

We want to ensure we’re asking all of your questions during this month’s virtual meeting discussing Sing, Unburied, Sing, so if you have a question for Jesmyn, submit it below!

We hope you’ll join us on Monday, September 17th at 7pm EDT. To find out more details and reserve your space at the meeting, visit here.

    Jesmyn,
First, I loved your novel. It was hauntingly beautiful. I am from Mississippi and have 3 children. I watched an interview you gave with PBS. You mentioned being conflicted with the decision to raise your children in your hometown. What differences have you seen between your childhood and your children’s experiences growing up in the South. Do you believe writing about the realities of life in your hometown will bring about a conversation for change?
