I Found You by Lisa Jewell (Review by Erin Woodward)

Rating: 4.5/5*

I was at a book event the other day and I bonded with the lovely lady sat beside me because we both agreed that Lisa Jewell was amazing and not well enough known. I just finished her new book I Found You and I have to say – I loved loved loved it. Good news is that it’s already out – so you can actually pick up a copy of it today.

So why is it so good? It’s a great mystery and you will actually still be guessing with only 50 pages to go. In the first few chapters we are introduced to a nameless man, nameless because he has amnesia and can’t remember a thing about his life – let’s call him “Frank”. Well, Frank is taken in by a slightly crazy Alice who found him alone wandering the beach in the pouring rain. If you can forgive Alice’s for this recklessness you’re bound to grow quite fond of her as she’s one of the more real characters I’ve come across.

At the same time, across the country (London), Lily’s husband has disappeared. Just newly married Lily is bound and determined to find her husband but has very few clues.

Of course everything comes together in the end – and not in the typical aha sort of way either.
